What is a Good News Grant?
To understand the Good News Grant program, you first need to get all the facts. Our non-profit organization was founded by the women who work in Los Angeles television newsrooms. Our job descriptions, by and large, requires us to deliver the bad news that develops each and every day. This grant program gives us the opportunity to counter-balance how we make a living... by focusing our attention on those who are working to create 'good' news.... the kind we love to report!
That’s why a key component of our Foundation—and the largest percentage of our fundraising efforts—goes directly to our grant distribution program. Because of the strong signal strength we receive from our network of supporters we are in a position to offer substantial financial assistance to individuals and organizations making a dedicated difference in the communities we cover on a daily news basis.
Looking for ‘high definition’ of who we will consider giving grants to? The Foundation will take an in-depth look at anyone working in a not-for-profit capacity to improve the lives of those who are disadvantaged. We are interested in individuals whose primary focus is to help those in need. We will also consider any group or organization that collectively comes together to offer assistance programs. The Foundation will also give special consideration to groups dedicated to improving the lives of underprivileged women and children.
The Good News Grant program relies on individuals who are involved with, or interested, in our Foundation to keep us ‘dialed in’ to those individuals and groups who deserve grant consideration. The nomination process is easy, and with your help we’ll be able to grant assistance to those who are truly good news-worthy!
